Suzi's Diary

The Story about Suzi from Taiwan

2005-06 文化大使獎學金學生

D3520 台北忠誠扶青團前團長 張必輝 Suzi

I, Chang Pi-Hui (Suzi), was born and grew up in Taiwan, a small beautiful island in the Pacific Ocean.

When I was a child, I liked reading general scientific books, and I loved nature very much. Until I studied in Taipei City First Girls’ Senior High School, I met many good friends, and they were also good competitors. My school was open and free. The teachers taught us knowledge but they didn’t push us to study hard. It was very different from other schools in Taiwan. We had to arrange our time well, and organize ourselves. After passing the national examination, I entered National Taiwan University, and my major was Agriculture Chemistry. My university was the best one in Taiwan. While I was at the university, I started to learn German and Japanese because I hoped to understand more cultures via speaking more languages. I stayed in the same field until finishing my Master’s degree. At the same time, I joined the great group, Taipei Chung Cheng Rotaract Club. Our sponsor club is Taipei Chung Cheng Rotary Club.

Now I work in a Chinese medicine company and take responsibility for chemical analyzing. Besides my job, without doubt, I am still a Rotaractor. I strongly believe that Rotary and Rotaract give me numbers of chances to develop myself. From the Rotary family, I have learned friendship and leadership. Furthermore, I got the Cultural Ambassador Scholarship to broaden my horizons in the United States and improve my English ability. I have been in Denver more than three months. I always do my best to understand American culture and promote Chinese culture. I have made many friends not only from America but also from other countries. I watched the NBA games, the NFL games, the Western Stock Show, Rodeo, and so on. I participated in the MLK Marade and tried to figure out the American dream. The best harvest is I have learned how to ski!

All these experiences will be the worthiest memory in my life. I promise Ill never give up studying English because my English skills will help me a lot in my work. I appreciate being here. I have really received countless treasure, and have recharged my energy for life and work. Now I have more confidence to plan my future.
