Hello, my name is Andrea Barton. I am 18 years old and I am Canadian high school graduate currently on my rotary exchange to Taipei, Taiwan.

I come from a fairly small town in South Western Ontario called Paris. Paris has a population of about 10, 000 people. It is a very nice town and I have enjoyed growing up there very much. Coming from a small town to Taipei with a population in the few millions I was clearly in a for a shock when I got here!

In Canada I  attended a high school of about 1500 students. Last year I was the president of my Students council as well as a student trustee for my school board.

I am a very athletic person. At home I swan for about 8 hours a week. I had been swimming competitively for 9 nine years. In Taiwan I like to exercise at the gym near my house.

I am currently attending Da Tong senior high school, where I study chinese with five other exchange students.

I am being hosted by the Taipei rotary club of Swanshie. Every one in my club has made me feel very welcome and I feel very lucky to be staying here. My sponsoring club is the rotary club of Brantford Ontario.

In December I will be moving to Tien Mu, I am very excited about this as I hear Tien Mu is another great part of the island.

So far while staying in Taiwan, I have had the opportunity to visit many very interesting and exciting places. In August I went to Penghu with my rotary club. I have also visited Kemen, Tainan and places around Taipei. I hope to make it to Kaoshung this year.

My host parents all seem like great people and I know I will enjoy living and being a part of all of their families. So far my time in Taiwan has been wonderful and I know it will continue to get better as time goes by.
