Merry Christmas to you all!!

This year I had a different Christmas in Canada. An unforgettable Christmas. In Taiwan, my family doesn’t celebrate Christmas, therefore, we don’t have Christmas dinner or Christmas presents (But I remember a long time ago, our Rotary Club had a year-end party. Someone dressed like a Santa and gave children their Christmas presents.). And also, we don’t decorate our house or have a Christmas tree to decorate.

Christmas here just like the Chinese New Year in Taiwan. All of the family members get together, and have a big Christmas dinner, and then, get their Christmas presents. Yesterday was Christmas Eve. We went to one of the Bolls’ friend’s house to have a Christmas Eve dinner. There were twenty-three people around the table at the same time. I’ve never had so many people around the table ever. After the dinner, we went to the living room, and then got our presents. Even the family didn't know me. I still got a present from them. How kind they were!

This morning, after everyone woke up, we got together to open our presents. I got a photo album, Canadian singer’s CD (not Avril Lavigne’s), a sweater…., etc. After opening the gifts, we went to the church. And then I went to my previous host family’s house. I brought their presents for them. I am glad that they all liked their presents very much.

This year I had a very different Christmas here, and I will never forget.
