PDG Dens,

Thank you so much for the warm welcome! I am so happy and excited to be here! It has been a dream my whole life to be an exchange student, since I was very young. This is mainly because when my mother was young she was an exchange student to Spain... and because of all the wonderful experiences she told me about I have always wanted to experience seeing and living in another country for myself. Also, because my father was a gymnast his whole life, his coaches were Japanese, so when I was very young many times we would go to visit them for dinner or celebrations, and I began to love the Asian culture from a very young age also, this is why I wanted to come to Taiwan for my exchange, because I have heard many wonderful things about the culture and the people, and all of them I have found to be true so far!

 I hope to learn to speak and understand Chinese as soon as possible... however it is very difficult for me right now because I am still very new here, and many things are much different than my home, so I am having some difficulty adjusting... especially to family life, because back home I have lived alone with just my mother and myself for the past almost 5 years, since my father left, and because life is very hard for us, we don't have much money, so I have worked for many things for myself. One example would be this exchange trip... No one helped me pay to get here, not my family or my Rotary back home, I worked myself, and I made my own money to get myself here, so this trip means a great deal to me. I am very thankful to be here, and especially to my wonderful Host Rotary Club here, and my wonderful host family for taking care of me while I am here, and especially for my host family for continuing to put up with me even though I seem to make a lot of mistakes because I'm not used to the way many things work here...If there is anything else you would like to know, just ask me, I'll be glad to provide you with more information, just currently I don't have much time to use the computer, and I don't have any pictures to send yet, but as soon as I get some I'll be very happy to give them to you!
