澎湖假期Penghu Weekend

- 上一頁-UP-

I went to Penghu last weekend!!  It was so much fun!  Well the flight over was nauseating, but after landing the fun began.  The first day we arrived we were introduced to all of the Rotex who were going to be helping us out over the weekend as well as the uncles.  The first day we went to a beach, we went jet skiing, scuba-diving, kind of, and just plain swimming.  Afterwards some kids played a little volleyball, and some played soccer.  We took a lot of pictures, but my camera was out of order so I don’t have any!!  We also saw some of the common sights of the island, but it was fun.  Later on at night the students went out around the town, one of the Rotex was originally from Penghu so he showed us around.  That part was the most fun out of the whole day.  The next day we were given a tour of more of the old sights of the island, some temples a museum, an aquarium like place, that part of the tour was ok.  Later we got to ride bikes; I went on a 2 person bike with Aline from Germany.  The bike ride was very difficult.  We kept drifting from left to right on the bike in the middle of the road, but it was very amusing.  We also went swimming at a beach that day.  The actual swimming was fun, but after was Horrible!!!  Almost everyone who went swimming had some kind of cut or scrape on their bodies.  I had the worst foot scrape.  I did not know how many people got injured that day, until I received help.  There was an ambulance parked near by when I was exiting the water, so I went up and asked in Chinese “do you have or not have” and then pointed to my bloody foot.  They started speaking Taiwanese to each other, so I was kind of confused, but then they started to organize around me so I thought they would help me.  Then they called the ambulance men over.  They saw my foot and told me to sit.  When they were cleaning my wounds, another exchange student came over and showed the ambulance men their cut and said “me next”, then another, and two more, and another came over all with wounds on their feet.  It was pretty funny.  One exchange student said everyone saw my cut and decided they wanted to be like me.  I guess I am a trend setter.  Later we went shopping around the town. That was also fun. The next morning I got up a bit late, so I did not eat breakfast at the hotel like everyone else.  I ended up having red bean cake for breakfast on the bus, mmmm.  We went to like a fishing area where we were able to catch all kinds of things like, squid, and fish of all different sizes.   We couldn’t keep what we caught, but it did make for a nice picture.  We ate oysters caught fresh that morning; cooked on a grill right in front of our eyes.  After this we returned to the hotel for lunch and omg… TOO MUCH FRIED FOOD.  My arteries starting hurting as soon as I saw the food we would be eating that day.  All of the girls said they were getting fat already; they could not eat the food.  After that we went to the airport, had our last laughs and went home.  My first impression of a rotary trip is definitely a good one.
