What The Rotary Foundation means to me now and for the future

To me TRF is helping Andrea.  Andrea’s husband died from contaminated water. She can afford school for only one of her 3 girls. Andrea walked 8 miles roundtrip to wash and obtain water from a river. In July my daughter and I attended a dedication ceremony in Haiti for a matching grant, safe water well for Andrea’s village.

Tom is an attorney practicing real estate and corporate law. He is president of Thorfinnson and Thorfinnson, PA. Tom is a former instructor of business law for the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota and presently sits on the Board of Directors of First Minnetonka City Bank. Along with other activities in the community, Tom has coached girls fast pitch softball teams, helped with the Special Olympics, and taught Sunday school at the Minnetonka Methodist Church.

        A Rotarian since 1980, Tom is a member of the Eden Prairie Noon Rotary club and served as president of the Hopkins MN Club in 1992-93. At the district level he has served as Preserve Planet Earth Committee Chair, 1990-91; Foundation Grants Chair 1993-1994; World Community Service (WCS) Committee Chair 1994-96; TRF Annual Giving Chair 1997-1999, District Rotary Foundation Chair 2000-2001, Fundraising Chair Haiti Safe Water Plus project (1999-present); Membership Development Chair 2001-2002, Special Representative for club formation at Orono and Eden Prairie Noon.
