Notes:

  1. Getting to know you- GETS spouses program aims to prepare spouses for what they will experience at the International Assembly and the year ahead. GETS is also an important opportunity to learn about the zone and build new friendships. This first roundtable discussion is designed for spouses to know each other and share information about their respective district.

  2. Set Expectations- Let spouses know what to expect from GETS spouses program and the International Assembly spouses program. Attendees are more likely to enjoy the program if they understand their purpose and scope.

  3. Rotary Administration- Spouses without much Rotary experience will expand their knowledge of the association through an orientation on the organization of Rotary such as structure of RI from club to zone, and other practical information such as various programs of Rotary and the Rotary Foundation. Experienced spouses may find themselves in the role of an educator rather than learner.

  4. Preparing for the International Assembly- Orient DGE spouses on what to expect and how to prepare for the International Assembly.

  5. Fellowship Activities- Helping spouses form new friendships is an important aspect of GETS. This can be done through activities where spouse can mingle or through a group tour or outing. Suggestions from PDG Mark and Spouse Emily are most welcome.
