Health and development issues will be the focus of the second Presidential Conference of Peace and Development of the 2002-03 Rotary year, in Nairobi, Kenya, 21-23 February 2003.

RI President Bhichai Rattakul, Foundation Trustee Chairman Glen W. Kinross, and other speakers will address concerns central to fighting disease and poverty in Africa and throughout the developing world. Among them are the special needs of people infected with HIV, the virus that can lead to AIDS, and the remaining obstacles to polio eradication in Africa.

分組討論讓出席者有機會聆聽專家對各項議題的意見，包括與其他組織合作解決衛生問題的優點及挑戰、對抗結核病、利用教育與識字來對抗貧窮與飢餓。

Breakout discussion sessions will provide attendees with opportunities to hear from panels of experts on topics including the benefits and challenges of working with outside organizations to address health concerns, combating tuberculosis, and using education and literacy to fight poverty and hunger.

A prominent feature of the conference will be a project fair showcasing the efforts of Rotarians in the region to improve health and foster development.
