Rotary International President Carl-Wilhelm Stenhammar has established a goal this year to enhance the public image of Rotary throughout the world. This task can be achieved merely by telling other people about the good work of Rotarians and Rotary clubs. He has asked a Rotary Public Image Resource Group to assist him by preparing a project kit with practical and useful suggestions for your club. Please take the time to review the enclosed project kit.

扶輪有許許多多感人的故事可說。大家應該把握這個黃金良機宣揚扶輪社的善行。請與社區及全世界分享激勵人心的超我服務事例，並請各社加入成為我們「扶輪公共形象資源小組」網絡的一份子。

There are so many wonderful Rotary stories to tell. We ask you to seize this golden opportunity to report on the good works of your Rotary club. Share your inspirational examples of Service Above Self with your community and our world. Become part of our Rotary Public Image Resource Group network.

在扶輪世界裡，說明何謂扶輪與扶輪事蹟的方法不一而足。

Throughout the world of Rotary, there are many ways to tell what Rotary is and what Rotary does.

但在這個資料袋中，我們將著重採用下列四大技巧，來提升扶輪在您當地的形象：

In this kit we are focusing on four primary techniques to expand the image of Rotary in your area:

看板(透過戶外或室內看板、海報、招牌及展示品展現扶輪的善行，來宣揚扶輪)

Billboards (promoting Rotary through outdoor and indoor billboards, posters, signs, and displays that show Rotary at work)

平面媒體(協助當地報紙撰稿人了解扶輪的善行，這些都是絕佳的新聞題材) 廣播電台播放訊息(協助廣播電台記者了解扶輪社的優良服務活動)

Print Media (helping local newspaper writers to learn about the good work of Rotary, which makes excellent news stories) Radio Messages (helping radio reporters to learn about the excellent service activities of Rotary clubs)

電視(提供有關扶輪及其公益活動的資訊給電視台記者及製作人)

Television (providing television reporters and producers information about Rotary and its many activities of public interest)

口耳相傳…最後同樣重要的是：請把扶輪的善行和偉大事蹟告訴至少10位非扶輪社員。想想看1,219,097位扶輪社員每個人都把扶輪社善行告訴其他10個非扶輪社員的影響會有多大，全世界將有超過1200萬人更清楚認識扶輪的人道成就。不僅如此，扶輪的社員人數當然也會因此增加。

Word of Mouth . . . Last but not least, please tell a minimum of 10 non-Rotarians about the good works and great stories of Rotary. Just imagine the impact if 1,219,097 Rotarians each told 10 non-Rotarians about the good works of Rotary . . . that would result in 12+ million people in the world who would have learned specifically about Rotary’s humanitarian work.  Plus, it would certainly increase our organization’s membership.

In an effort to aid you in this process, enclosed please find brief instructions to highlight the “5 EASY STEPS” in an effort to accomplish any or all of those categories.

Thus, President Stenhammar has also appointed area coordinators and zone coordinators who are available to help you and answer any questions you may have (you will find them listed on the following sheets.)

The image of Rotary can be well enhanced by Rotarians who tell other people about our humanitarian, educational, and cultural programs. Please tell our resource group about your successful experiences to promote the image of Rotary in your area.

Also, it is very important that you send to your district PR chair the materials contained in the bullet points below . . . each should include your name, club, district number, and date. The district PR chair will forward, accordingly so we can accurately record the RI world public image exposure for President Stenhammar during 2005-06.
