Thank you for the opportunity to present a brief proposal to you for enhancing support in the  _____ Club for The Rotary Foundation. District Governor  ______ is hopeful that my recent visit to_____ , along with her work throughout the year, will build a stronger bridge between club members and The Rotary Foundation.

As you may know, Rotary’s quest for world understanding and peace has led us to some extraordinary achievements. We are on the verge of eradicating polio in the world. We have provided clean and safe water to communities in developing countries, and we have helped educate thousands of children who now have a promising future.

In addition, we have created the Rotary Centers for International Studies in peace and conflict resolution, which will educate and train a new generation of leaders in the peace process.  Although the program is still young, we are already seeing our graduates take important positions. One graduate, Arnoldas Pranckevicius is currently serving as the domestic policy advisor to the President of Lithuania, Mr. Valdas Adamkus. Another, Richard Gee, is serving as Senior Legal Advisor to the Chief Electoral Officer for Afghanistan. And, Amy Kay is serving as a Program Officer for the United Nations Development Program based in Cairo, Egypt. We expect some of these fellows will become recognized world leaders in their lifetime.

My hope is that you will consider supporting a Rotary World Peace Fellow for the cost of their two-year education. Your commitment would be for $60,000 total, which can be made in two installments of $30,000 each.
