Recruitment
|
Every Rotary club needs new members. They bring fresh ideas, new
interests, and increased energy and provide for future leadership. Each
new member increases the club’s capacity for service and ensures the
future of Rotary International. Encourage each club in the district to
actively recruit qualified new members, establishing a broad
representation of the businesses and professions in its area. |
|
As governor, you should help the clubs incorporate appropriate and
effective recruitment strategies in their membership development action
plans. A successful recruitment strategy involves public relations,
interesting meetings, and overall club effectiveness. Consider the
following as you encourage clubs to recruit new members: |
-
|
-
Encourage
every club to develop a club fact sheet and prospective member packet
to give to non-Rotarian visitors. Provide a district profile to serve
as a guide. For more information on developing a fact sheet, see
chapter 6, pg. 70.
-
Emphasize
membership growth during your official visit by including it in the
governor’s address.
-
Review
the club action plan and progress toward its membership goal during
your official visit.
-
Encourage
clubs to conduct a classification survey — assessing business and
professional interests within their communities.
-
Analyze
business and professional trends within the district as compared to
current membership trends. Share this information with clubs in your
district.
